Laguna Water bagged two awards at the 51st Anvil Awards Gabi ng Parangal held last February 26 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, for its outstanding Public Relations programs and tools implemented the previous year.

The largest water and used water service provider in Laguna took home a Gold Anvil award for its compelling audio-visual presentation that encourages individuals and communities to join in the effort of ensuring reliable, sufficient and clean water supply for the Province of Laguna. The winning entry, “Making Waves: The Laguna Water Story,” relayed how the company began, from being a small water operator servicing 17,700 households within the cities of Biñan, Sta. Rosa, and Cabuyao to growing exponentially for the last 5 years to become the biggest water operator in Laguna with more than 100,000 customers and expanding its coverage to include the entire Province.

The company also received a Silver Anvil award for “Fountain for the Youth: Improving Access to Clean Water in Primary Schools in Laguna.” The entry, centered on its Lingap Eskwela program, is one of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives which aim to provide public schools access to safe, clean and uninterrupted water supply via the provision of drinking fountains and handwashing facilities for free.

This is the second year the Public Relations Society of the Philippines through its Anvil Awards has recognized Laguna Water's efforts in Public Relations. Last year, Laguna Water’s Tubig Para Sa Barangay also received a Gold Anvil award.

Present to accept the awards were representatives from the Provincial Government of Laguna led by Laguna Governor Ramil L. Hernandez and executives from Laguna Water and Manila Water headed by Laguna Water President Virgilio C. Rivera, Jr. and Manila Water Operations COO Ferdinand M. Dela Cruz.

Laguna Water is a successful public-private partnership between the Provincial Government of Laguna and Manila Water Philippine Ventures, a wholly-owned company by Manila Water Company Inc. (Manila Water), the Ayala-led water service provider in the East Zone of Metro Manila and a leader in the water industry in the Philippines, with presence in Vietnam, Myanmar and Indonesia.
